April 8 (Day 22) - Hog Back Gap to Fontana Dam

This morning, we awoke and packed expeditiously, as we were excited to be moving into the Fontana Dam area.  We reached the marina at the trailhead and called for a shuttle at the visitor's center.  The shuttle deposited us at the Fontana Lodge, where we secured accommodations for the night. 

Packrat and I indulged our carnivorous appetites in a couple of steaks at the lodge's restaurant, while Hammy enjoyed a veggie burger.  I also ate fried green tomatoes for the first time, and they were amazing!  Several bottles of wine later, we retired to the room and collapsed into wonderfully soft beds.
