Aside from some short sections like that of Albert Mountain, today was the first scramble of the trail. A steep descent awaited me below the Dragon's Tooth; narrow footholds and sheer rock face were made even more daunting by the weight and bulk of my pack. Despite the looming threat of falling, it was an exhilarating and enjoyable scramble.
I settled for the night at Catawba Mountain Shelter, where I found Indigo. After setting myself up in the shelter and gathering water from a very questionable source, I socialized with Indigo and eventually fell asleep.
