A group of local youths rode past me in a car, today, and as if it were a derogatory term, they bellowed, "Hiker!"
Then, there was the parade.
Although I was mere feet from the incident, I didn't take pictures of the car mowing down hikers. No, I didn't take pictures of the aftermath or of hikers responding, taking the keys from the ignition and lifting the car. I didn't take pictures of the pompous local authorities, either.
I'm so done with Damascus.
